Statement from Cllr Martin Hill, Leader of Lincolnshire County Council about the new national restrictions that will be taking place from Thursday 5 November.
"I'm Cllr Martin Hill, leader of Lincolnshire County Council. I wanted to share with you how we will operate during this planned 4 week lockdown and how we will continue to do our best for you.
"Our numbers of positive cases of Covid-19 remain a lot lower than the national average. But we understand there is a much bleaker picture in other parts of the country and the government has had to act.
"It's going to be difficult for people seeing their freedoms reduced again. We will do all we can to support residents, businesses and communities.
"Vital support and services for some of our most vulnerable older residents, children and young people will continue to be a priority.
"The government have asked for public buildings to stay open. People can still rely on things like the council waste recycling centres through our click and tip service and we'll keep spaces like Lincoln Castle grounds open for people to access for daily exercise and wellbeing.
"We will continue to carry out vital functions such as inquests and funeral, though weddings will not be able to go ahead during lockdown.
"And we have taken the necessary decision to close all our other heritage sites across the County - such as the Archives and the Collection Museum in Lincoln and the BBMF Visitor Centre in Coningsby.
"Our Business Lincolnshire teams are on hand to offer advice and guidance about the financial support available for businesses, when the government provides the details.
"The NHS is open and people should continue to use it for new problems or for existing treatment. If you have any health issues, try NHS 111 on line or via the phone or check online/call your GP practice.
"By reducing the spread of the virus we should be in a really good place to control our infection rates in the county during the four weeks and hopefully come out in a better position as we go into the festive season.
"Remember, we're here for you and we will do all we can to support you -your families, your loved ones, your businesses.
