Roman Bank to re-open over Christmas

Roman Bank December Update

One of Skegness's busiest roads will temporarily re-open to keep local people moving during the holidays.

Major reconstruction works along Roman Bank will pause for 11 days starting on Thursday 24 December, with the project set to resume on Monday 4 January.

Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "We've decided to re-open Roman Bank from Christmas Eve to just after New Year's Day to make it easier for people in town to get around town during the holidays.

"The team has been working tirelessly since starting in September, so pausing the works over the holidays will also give them a much-needed break to spend time with their families.

"Our works here are continuing ahead at a strong and steady pace, and the team will be ready to continue that momentum in the new year, with a view to having the road fully back open by Easter."

The £4.8m scheme is being co-funded by £3.6m from the Department for Transport's Challenge Fund and £1.2m from Lincolnshire County Council.
