Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "We're going to be carrying out some scheduled maintenance on the A46 starting next week which will see overgrown shrubs and trees overhanging the carriageway removed.
"Now is the best time of year to carry out this sort of work since we're outside of nesting season and vegetation in the area is becoming dormant ahead of winter.
"The A46 is one of the county's busiest roads, so this work will no doubt cause some disruption.
"However, we'll do everything we can to minimise disruption, particularly carrying out the works during off-peak hours so those travelling during rush hour aren't affected."
