Holdingham Roundabout update – Daytime works now underway

The project is well underway with utility diversions and the early stages of construction progressing.

What we achieved in March

  • Completed Phase 1 and started Phase 2 of Anglian Water diversions
  • Removed all five splitter islands
  • Erected six temporary streetlight columns in lieu of the splitter island streetlight columns
  • Installed five road crossings on the A17 & A15
  • Constructed a safe loading/unloading area in the central island
  • Commenced earthworks on the central island with deep excavation and sub-base construction
  • Piped and backfilled the drainage ditch on the A15 North

What's happening in April

  • Continue Phase 2 Anglian Water diversion
  • Divert Western Power HV cable on the A15 North
  • Divert BT assets on the A15 North
  • Continue earthworks on the central island and sub-base construction
  • Commence drainage works on the central island
  • Continue works to the ditch on the A17, ready for carriageway widening
  • Carry out carriageway widening, including kerbing to the B1518 Lincoln Road Sleaford
  • Begin carriageway reconstruction works on the A15, between Navenby and Brauncewell

Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures

  • Temporary 30mph speed restriction and 50mph speed restriction on the A17 dual carriageway
  • Narrowed lanes on the A17 dual carriageway on the approach to the roundabout
  • Reduced lanes on approach to roundabout during off-peak times
  • Signalised pedestrian crossing facility on A17, and to central roundabout for workforce
