Night-time repairs for A158 just outside Lincoln

Sections of the A158 Wragby Road between Sudbrooke and Stainton will be resurfaced.

Update

Due to the recent very wet weather, we have had to postpone part of this scheme until late September 2021.

We have completed around 1km of structural repairs and resurfacing on the A158 through Langworth, and we'll do the section through Sudbrooke later in the year, on dates to be confirmed.

We've rescheduled the works to avoid any disruption for anyone travelling to the coast over the summer. And by September, works will be completed on the A46 Dunholme/Welton roundabout, helping to further reduce the impact on traffic.

Advance notification will be displayed on site nearer the time. Work will again be carried out with an overnight road closure between 8pm and 6am.

Original release

Work will start on Monday 10 May to resurface damaged sections of the road, between the junction with Scothern Lane, and the junction with Stainton Lane.

The road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am whilst work takes place. The road will be reopened to traffic during the day, and access will be maintained for residents at all times.

Repairs are expected to take two weeks.

Traffic will be diverted as follows:

  • Vehicles under 4.8m tall: via A158, A46, B1202 and A158, and vice versa.
  • Vehicles over 4.8m tall: via A158, A46, B1225, A157 and A158, and vice versa, in order to avoid a low bridge in Market Rasen.

Access will be maintained for residents within the works area for the duration of the works.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said:

"Whilst we'll always try to keep disruption caused by our roadworks to a minimum, I appreciate that even overnight works will affect some residents. Please bear with us whilst we work to improve Lincolnshire's roads."
