Work starts on Monday 21 June to build a new, wider footpath along the north side of Station Road from the junction with Brant Road to Somerville Close.
Update: Please note that the traffic management for our footpath, patching and resurfacing works at Station Road, Waddington have changed.
Instead of a full road closure, temporary traffic signals will be in place between the Brant Road and Somerville Close junctions of Station Road (please note that the specific location of these traffic signals will change based on where work is taking place).
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "We've listened to and understand local people's concerns and, on this occasion, we were able to go back to the drawing boards to find a less disruptive way of working.
"As a result, instead of closing Station Road to through-traffic, we'll be using a combination of temporary traffic signals throughout the scheme.
"This change means locals, commuters, buses and other vehicles can continue using Station Road as normal throughout the project. Drive times will still be affected, though, so we encourage anyone traveling in and around Waddington to leave extra time for their journeys."
Original: To create the new path, the kerbs along that section will all be lifted, then the new, wider path laid and the kerb stones reset.
Some kerbs on the opposite, south side of the road will also be replaced with ones that better reflect surface water, to help with drainage.
Areas of Station Road will also be patched or resurfaced during that time as necessary.
The project is expected to take up to 10 weeks, and be finished before the end of the school summer holidays.
Station Road will be closed to through-traffic whilst work takes place, with access allowed to residents and emergency vehicles only.
Other traffic will be diverted along Brant Road to Blackmoor Road, through Harmston, and then along Grantham Road back to Waddington.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said:
"Thank you to residents for bearing with us while we make these improvements in Waddington.
"This time of year our ambitious programme of works to maintain and improve the roads is in full swing.
"I know roadworks can be frustrating, but work like this helps us keep our network safe and prevent defects from forming when the weather worsens."
