A worn-out section of the road, near the Manor Leas School zebra crossing, is set to be replaced.
Work on the £35,000 project is due to begin on Monday 21 October and is expected to be completed on Thursday 24 October.
To allow the works to be carried out safely, the road will be closed between 7.30am and 5pm each day, with traffic diverted via Newark Road, Moor Lane and Lincoln Road.
Karen Cassar, assistant director highways, said: "This section of road has suffered significant wear and tear over the years and it's important we get it repaired, particularly given its proximity to the zebra crossing.
"This is a well-used route, so we've scheduled the works to take place during half-term, when traffic is significantly lighter.
"However, there is still likely to be some disruption, so we would ask motorists to be patient, allow additional time for their journeys and use alternative routes where possible."
