During July we continued work to the underside of the new underpass, earthworks near the old underpass, drainage and ducting works, signage and street lighting.
What we achieved in July
Phase Two
- Continued works to underside of new underpass
- Continued earthworks near the old underpass
- Continued drainage and ducting works / street lighting and signage installation across the entire site
- Completed central reservation drainage works and safety fencing on the A1
- Began ducting and street light installation on the A1
Phase Three
- Continued digging out poor material and replacing with new
- Installed test piles for Pier 2 of the new bridge
- Installed sheet piles for haul road bridge on the west side of site
- Continued bulk earthworks and filling shoulders of site with core material on east side of site
- Continued filling embankment and processing crushed rocks on east side of site
- Continue post-excavation archaeological reporting
What's happening in August
Phase Two
- Continue works to underside of new underpass
- Complete earthworks near the old underpass
- Continue drainage and ducting works / street lighting and signage installation across the entire site
- Begin safety barrier and road surfacing across the entire site
- Begin surfacing, water channel installation and verge works / continue ducting, signage and street light installation on the A1
Phase Three
- Install below-ground embankment monitoring equipment / construct embankment / install new haul road bridge / begin installation of foundational concrete columns for new bridge on the west side of site
- Continue bulk earthworks on east side of site
- Continue post-excavation archaeological reporting
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- 50mph speed limit and narrowed lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton
- On-going lane closures on the B1174 roundabout until the end of the scheme
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Sunday 8 to Friday 13 August
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Monday 16 to Friday 20 August
- Southbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Monday 23 August to Friday 27, and Tuesday 31 August, 8pm to 6am
