Installation of Phase Three bridge foundations to begin
What we achieved in August
Phase Two
- Continued works to underside of new underpass
- Completed earthworks near the old underpass
- Continued drainage and ducting works / street lighting and signage installation across the entire site
- Started safety barrier installation
- Completed road surfacing up to the southbound slip road
- Began surfacing, water channel installation and verge works / continue ducting, signage and street light installation on the A1
Phase Three
- Installed below-ground embankment monitoring equipment / continue embankment construction / installed new haul road bridge / tested piling foundations on the west side of site
- Continued bulk earthworks and rock processing on east side of site
- Continued post-excavation archaeological reporting
What's happening in September
Phase Two
- Continue works to underside of new underpass

- Continue surfacing, water channel installation and verge works / continue ducting, signage and street light installation on the A1
Phase Three
- Fill embankments up to the west embankment / carry out ground investigation works at the bridge piers / begin installation of foundational concrete columns for new bridge / began constructing the foundation for second temporary bridge on the west side of site
- Construct reinforced embankment / continued rock processing / begin construction machinery crossing on east side of site
- Continue post-excavation archaeological reporting
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- 50mph speed limit and narrowed lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton
- On-going lane closures on the B1174 roundabout until the end of the scheme
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Monday 6 to Friday 10 September, 8pm to 6am
- Southbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Monday 13 to Friday 24 September, weeknights only, 8pm to 6am
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Saturday 25 to Thursday 30 September, 8pm to 6am
- Weekend closure of Whalebone Lane from the night of Friday 24 September to the night of Sunday 26 September for construction of a heavy plant crossing
