A1 works to continue through October
What we achieved in September
Phase Two
- Continued works to underside of new underpass
- Continued drainage and ducting works / street lighting and signage installation across the entire site
- Continue safety barrier installation and began verge works/fencing installation
- Completed surfacing, including anti-skid treatment, up to northbound off-slip
- Continued water channel installation and verge works / continue ducting, signage and street light installation on the A1
Phase Three
- West side of site – filled embankments up to the west embankment / carried out ground investigation works at the bridge piers / began installation of foundational concrete columns for new bridge / started earthworks filling for bridge abutment
- East side of site – continued rock processing / completed bulk earthworks filling / built construction machinery crossing / started earthworks filling for under bridge abutment
- Continued post-excavation archaeological reporting
What's happening in October
Phase Two
- Complete works to underside of new underpass

Phase Three
- West side of site – install new test piles and reaction piles / complete concrete bases and install temporary bridge for pier three / continue general earthworks filling
- East side of site – continue rock processing and earthworks filling for under bridge abutment / begin construction works to south-west section of Somersby Hill Roundabout
- Continue post-excavation archaeological reporting
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- 50mph speed limit and narrowed lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton
- On-going lane closures on the B1174 roundabout until the end of the scheme
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Southbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from 4-9 October, 11-15 October and 18-22 October from 8pm to 6am
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from 25-29 October, 8pm to 6am
- Temporary traffic signals and lane closures as needed at Somersby Hill Roundabout from Monday 4 October until Spring 2022
