What we achieved in November
Phase Two
- Construct new link and Honda layby
- Continued verge works / drainage and ducting installation / street lighting and signage installation / fence and safety barrier installation across site
- Continued verge works and installation of signs and street lights on the A1
- Completed installation of ducting and surface water channel on A1
Phase Three
- West side of site – install new test piles and reaction piles / complete general earthworks filling up to launch level / continue embankment works
- East side of site – continue rock processing / continue abutment earthworks / continue construction works to south-west section of Somerby Hill Roundabout
What's happening in December
Phase Two
- Continued verge works / drainage and ducting installation / street lighting and signage installation / fence and safety barrier installation across site
- Complete northbound surfacing works on the A1
- Continue verge works and installation of road signs and street lights on the A1
Phase Three
- West side of site – construct working platform for pier three / carry piling tests and analyse results / continue bridge abutment works, including securing reinforced steel and installing concrete the base
- East side of site – complete kerbing and ducting to Somerby Hill Roundabout / continue drainage works at Somerby Hill Roundabout / continue rock processing and main road excavation / install infiltration trenches to the east of Whalebone Lane
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- 50mph speed limit and narrowed lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton
- Ongoing lane closures on the B1174 roundabout until the end of the scheme
- Temporary traffic signals and lane closures as needed at Somerby Hill Roundabout until Spring 2022
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Northbound A1 closure between Little Ponton and Harlaxton from Monday 6 for five evenings, 8pm to 6am
- Southbound A1 closure between Harlaxton and Little Ponton from Monday 13 December for five evenings, 8pm to 6am
