Lincoln’s Christmas bauble is back

Fizzco Projects have worked tirelessly in their workshop to repair the damage and the bauble now has a new home at Lincoln Castle.

Lincoln BIG worked with Fizzco Projects and other city partners to illuminate Lincoln during this festive period and to try and welcome visitors and residents into Lincoln after such a challenging year for all.

The bauble was installed in readiness for the Christmas light switch on event (18 November), but unfortunately could not be lit that evening due to vandalism taking place the night before.

This instance of damage was repaired and the bauble duly lit. Unfortunately, the vandalism did not stop there and there was significant damage to the bench with the back being snapped in two places. Significant damage was also caused to the main structure of the bauble.

However, Lincoln BIG are delighted to say that the fantastic team at Fizzco Projects have managed to repair the bauble, which is now located at Lincoln Castle for everyone to enjoy.

The team at Lincoln BIG extended a big thank you for everyone's hard work in helping bring the bauble back to the city, including Fizzco Projects and the staff at Lincoln Castle.

Kimberley Vickers, Lincoln Castle general manager, said: “It was disappointing to hear the news that the bauble decoration had been damaged when it was on the High Street. I knew we’d be able to give it a safe home in the Castle grounds, so we offered to keep an eye on it for Lincoln BIG.

As well as being available for grounds visitors to enjoy throughout the day, it will also feature in our Lincoln Castle Illuminated event, where the grounds will be filled with colourful festive lights each evening right up until 23 December.

Tickets for Lincoln Castle Illuminated start at just £2 each and are available now from www.lincolncastle.com.
