Traffic disruption and parking restrictions will happen around the Cathedral area.
With production for the Ridley Scott film about Napoleon underway, the filming schedule is now starting to focus on scenes that will be shot at Lincoln Cathedral.
Several hundred crew and cast members are going to be on hand for the scenes which will be shot in the middle of March in the heart of the city. But before the cameras roll, the crew will be setting up and getting everything ready. After the filming is taken care of on camera, there will be a lengthy breaking-down process, too.
All this will mean some restrictions in place directly around the Cathedral for road users with Minster Yard being closed for the duration of the production from March 15 to March 19. In addition, parking bays along Eastgate will also be suspended from March 9 to March 24
There is disruption expected along Eastgate due to the parking suspensions and although Greeston Place will be open as usual, there could be some added disruption along that road too.
The dates for the production crew’s arrival and workplan are:
- Site preparation: Wednesday March 9 - Wednesday March 16 (excluding Sunday). 07.00 to 19.00 each day.
- Overnight set dressing: Thursday March 17. This will happen from 19.00 to 07.00.
- Filming: This will happen on Thursday March 17 from 07.00 to 19.00 and Friday March 18 from 07.00 to 19.00.
- Reinstatement: Putting everything back to the way it was, will happen from Saturday March 19 to Thursday March 24 from 07.00 to 19.00 everyday apart from Sunday when there will be no restrictions
