Following completion of repairs to the building’s pitched roof, the library will reopen on Tuesday 3 May 2022.
The main library has been closed since September whilst the major repair works took place. During the closure library staff have run a Click and Collect service at the Ryhall Road Day Centre to ensure no one ran out of fresh reads.
The Click and Collect service will end at 4pm on Saturday 23 April. Both the library and the Click and Collect service will then remain closed until 3 May so that staff can return the library furniture and stock ready for the reopening.
All items on loan from Stamford Library – either from the main site or the Click and Collect service – have had their return dates extended to Tuesday 24 May to give readers an opportunity to visit and return items without incurring overdue charges.
Please email Stamford.library@gll.org if you have any queries or concerns over the returning of items.
Cllr Lindsey Cawrey, executive member for libraries on Lincolnshire County Council, said:
“We’re looking forward to welcoming members and visitors back to Stamford Library; thank you for bearing us with whilst we carried out these repairs.
“The pitched roof replacement was the first phase of repairs to the library building, and over the coming months further work will take place on the site’s flat roof, windows and stone frontage. Thankfully, these works can go ahead without closing the building and should be completed later this year.”
