External assessments

His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) regularly inspects all fire and rescue services to assess how effectively and efficiently they serve their communities.

The latest inspection report highlights the significant progress made by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue since its previous inspection in 2023, recognising improvements across a range of areas including community risk reduction, organisational culture, leadership development and performance management.

The report recognised several areas of notable practice, including:

  • The strong integration of the Community Risk Management Plan across service strategies and policies
  • The delivery of Community Emergency Response Teams
  • Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s national leadership role in caravan fire safety

The report also acknowledged the need for continued progress on increasing diversity within the LFR workforce and investment into fire station facilities.
