Poacher Line

The Poacher Line is a Department for Transport (DfT) accredited 78-mile Community Rail Partnership (CRP).  It runs between Nottingham and Skegness and has 19 stations.

The CRP is funded by ourselves, as the lead partner, East Midlands Railway, London North Eastern Railway, CrossCountry Trains and the DfT.

The partnership follows the four pillars of the community rail strategy which include:

  • providing a voice for the community
  • promoting sustainable, healthy and accessible travel
  • bringing communities together and supporting diversity and inclusion
  • supporting social and economic development

Station adoption

Station adopters are volunteers who help out at their local station.

The station adopters observe any unusual activity and report faults and issues.  They also maintain the gardens and make sure the station is presentable.

The east midlands railway community rail team and appointed community ambassador support our station adopters.

If you are interested in becoming a station adopter and would like more information please visit the East Midlands Railways website

Music trains

The music trains provide an unusual venue for live music acts. They include a stop at a local brewery.

The service uses normally scheduled trains. There is no additional charge to join a music train event.

You can buy tickets, as usual, from stations or a train conductor. Passengers can also take advantage of the GroupSave music train ticket discount.
