Let’s Talk Rubbish – Expanding waste education across Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire County Council’s Waste Services Team are inspiring the next generation to act on the environment through their ‘Let’s Talk Rubbish Education Programme’.

First launched in 2022 for primary schools, the programme has gone from strength to strength, teaching children about waste minimisation, recycling, and responsible waste disposal in fun and interactive ways.

The workshops don’t just share knowledge – they give young people the tools to make positive changes in their schools, homes, and wider communities.

South Witham Academy told us: “The explanation of each part was pitched well to our younger children in reception class.”

South Hykeham Community Primary School, said: “All of our classes thoroughly enjoyed their workshops and learnt a great deal about recycling, as did many of the adults too! The presenters were very informative, engaging and friendly. Thank you very much for a great day.”

Now, due to popular demand, the programme is opening to community groups, and clubs across Lincolnshire. This means everyone, from youth groups to local societies, can benefit from these engaging and practical workshops.
