Delivered by Early Years Alliance, Time to Play, provides opportunities for children with disabilities or complex medical needs (in their early years up until they transition into statutory full-time education) to learn and explore through play, whilst providing a short break for their parents/carers.

Let’s Get Active 0 to 5 years

Children will be encouraged to be active in a range of activities such as running, jumping, balancing, climbing and throwing to develop their coordination.

Early Voices under 1s

Babies are born ready to communicate. This session will support these developing skills through songs and rhymes.

An opportunity for babies and children to pop in with their parents and carers to use the resources in the early years room in the centre. All we ask is that families clean and tidy the resources after use and the space is a safe and happy environment for all to enjoy.

Little Explorers 0 to 5 years

A sensory and messy play session providing lots of fun-filled opportunities for Children to explore using their senses, giving them opportunity to learn and develop.

Thursdays

Portage Stepping Stones - invite only

An invitation only targeted small group, for SEN pre school children and their parents or carers, led by Portage Practitioners and supported by Early Years and Family Educators.  Weekly sessions run over eight weeks focussing on specific areas of development.

Baby Massage - starting 8 January

This five-week course offers a chance for you and your baby to spend precious time bonding through massage whilst meeting other parents with babies to form friendships.

Breast Start from Pregnancy and Breastfeeding - 8 and 22 January, 5 and 19 February

Come and join us in a relaxed, friendly environment, chat and meet other breastfeeding mums and get some support and advice. A member of the health visiting team supports the group.

This session alternates between Swingbridge Children's Centre and Belton Lane Children's Centre, please check dates before attending.

Fridays

Portage drop in group - invite only

Portage Drop-In Group is a stay and play open access opportunity for Portage families only, who are currently receiving or have previously received support through the Early Learning and Portage Support Service. The group is run by Portage Practitioners, and families can access the group up until the term before their child starts school. The Drop-In Group provides an opportunity for families with SEND children to meet and share experiences and also receive information and signposting to other  services where appropriate.

Speech and Language drop in - held at Swingbridge childrens centre

Drop in for parents and carers to chat with a speech and language assistant where they may have concerns about their child’s speech and language development.

First Bites and Baby Life 3 to 6 months - 16 January only

This session shares top tips from introducing solids, oral health, accident prevention and age-appropriate development.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new families and find out what local services are available for your family.

Drop into any children’s centre to access the range of borrow bags. These include sensory bags, stories bags, treasure baskets and much more.


Free online sessions for parents and carer
