Little Explorers 0 to 5 years

A sensory and messy play session providing lots of fun-filled opportunities for Children to explore using their senses, giving them opportunity to learn and develop.

Tuesdays

Pop in and Play 0 to 5 years 

An opportunity for babies and children to pop in with their parents and carers to use the resources in the early years room in the centre. All we ask is that families clean and tidy the resources after use and the space is a safe and happy environment for all to enjoy.

Speech and Language Drop In, held at Birchwood Children's Centre, Birchwood Avenue, LN6 0JE

Drop-in for parents and carers to chat with a speech and language assistant where they may have concerns about their child’s speech and language development.

Learning Together Babies Under 1s, starts 17 February

The session features a ‘Talk Time’ to show how the little things parents do make a big difference to their babies’ learning, together with a range of activities such as treasure baskets, messy play, singing songs and sharing books.

Early Talkers 0 to 5 years

This session will support children to become confident communicators through songs, rhymes, exploring and sharing books.

First Bites and Baby Life: 3 to 6 months, 27 March and 30 April, held at Birchwood Children's Centre, Birchwood Avenue, LN6 0JE

This session shares top tips from introducing solids, oral health, accident prevention and age-appropriate development.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new families and find out what local services are available for your family.

Baby Massage, five week course starting 26 February

This five week course offers a chance for you and your baby to spend precious time bonding through massage whilst meeting other parents with babies to form friendships.

Drop into any children’s centre to access the range of borrow bags.  These include sensory bags, stories bags, treasure baskets and much more.


Free online sessions for parents and carer

Connect with other parents and carers via Zoom and learn about topics relevant to families and children aged 0 to 5. Share ideas in how to support children’s early education and each other. Vist the Family Corner website

Solihull approach - free online courses for parents, grandparents, teens and carers

The courses provide support through all stages of bringing up children, from pregnancy and birth to caring for toddlers up to teenagers. They include specific courses for teenagers, and for parents and carers of children with additional needs. Parents’ courses can be accessed via the Solihull approach website.
