Situated in Lincoln’s historic Cathedral Quarter directly opposite Lincoln Castle, the hotel enjoys an enviable location. The Blue Room at the Lawn is a unique venue. Housed within a Grade II listed Georgian building and set in lavish grounds, it was originally purpose built as a Victorian ballroom. The space has been beautifully refurbished with amazing period features including an eye-catching stained-glass, arched window to provide a stunning backdrop.

Making your day special

It is important that your big day is one you will remember and treasure which is why we invite you to include your additions.

We are flexible when it comes to personal additions, however, there are some legal restrictions you need to be aware of. Civil ceremonies are non-religious ceremonies which include both marriages and civil partnerships. The law does not allow religious content to be included in a civil ceremony.

The day of your ceremony

What time will the registrars arrive on the day of the ceremony?

To leave enough time to carry out your preliminary interviews, our Registrars will arrive at your venue approximately 30 minutes before your ceremony start time (the time you book your ceremony for). It is extremely important that your ceremony starts on time as our Registrars may need to attend other ceremonies after yours.

You will both need to meet with the Registrars immediately prior to your ceremony for a short preliminary interview. This is a legal requirement to check over your details and make sure they are correct and run through the ceremony with you before it begins.

• You will be seen seperately before your ceremony.
• Party One should be ready to meet with the Registrars 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. 
• Party Two should be ready 15 minutes before the ceremony start time.
