We are currently undertaking a flood risk and drainage study on behalf of our client. The study area is at land located off Cowbit Road, Spalding. Nearest postcode: PE12 6BL. National grid reference: TF 24788 21125.
1) I would like to enquire as to whether Lincolnshire County Council have any records/maps/modelling data of flooding in or around the immediate site or the surrounding site boundary?
2) In particular do you have any information relating to historic flooding, sewer flooding, surface water or groundwater information.
3) Additionally, if Lincolnshire County Council have any other information relating to flood risk to this site which is relevant for use in a Flood Risk and Drainage study, could you please pass that on to me?
4) Could I also request that any drainage guidance or policy the council has be passed on to me?

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) as Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) has not undertaken any flood modelling in or around the surrounding site boundary, and does not have any records of flooding in the direct vicinity of the site. However, there are previous localised flooding issues in nearby areas at Low Fulney, Clay Lake and Acacia Avenue – not directly on site but known issues nearby.
2. Please refer to the above information.
3. Please refer to the Environment Agency Check the long term flood risk for an area in England (https://www.gov.uk/check-long-term-flood-risk) and Flood map for planning (https://flood-map-for-planning.service.gov.uk/) service for flood risk data specific to the site. Additionally, LCC and partners are in the process of developing a surface water scheme in the Clay Lake area nearby which will aim to be delivered and constructed circa 2026/27. We are not aware of any proposed flood defence schemes in the immediate vicinity of the site. In terms of existing assets, we would recommend that you refer to our Section 21 asset register which provides an overview of significant flood risk assets within Lincolnshire (https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/flood-risk-management/Find-flood-risk-assets). Environment Agency asset data can be obtained from here – AIMS Asset Bundle (https://www.data.gov.uk/dataset/a3861a23-78a1-438d-8c36-1f9f1133c572/aims-asset-bundle).
4.
