Policies and procedures for children's social care

I request copies of the following documents and information:

 

1. All policies, procedures, and internal guidance documents currently used by Grantham Children's Social Care regarding:

 

a. Child contact arrangements and cancellations.

 

b. Residence orders and decision-making processes.

 

c. Safeguarding of children where domestic abuse, coercive control, or parental allegations are present.

 

d. Supporting parents with autism, ADHD, or other disabilities under the Equality Act 2010.

 

e. The role and responsibilities of allocated social workers and team managers.

 

f. Escalation procedures when complaints are made against a social worker.

 

 

2. Any council-wide policies or training documents provided to social workers on:

 

a. Compliance with the Children Act 1989.

 

b. Compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014.

 

c. Compliance with the Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 statutory guidance.

 

d. Compliance with the Public Law Outline in relation to family court proceedings.

 

3. Any internal audit, review, or report carried out within the last five years on Grantham Children's Social Care in relation to:

 

a. Mismanagement of parental contact.

 

b. Complaints regarding coercion, bias, or lack of transparency in family cases.

 

c. Failures to make reasonable adjustments for disabled parents.

2. Social Workers are trained on the law initially through their social work degrees. Lincolnshire County Council then offer in house training, through specific courses, individual support and specific workshops or updates when there are any changes to the law or practice. Attendance and performance is managed through line managers. There is significant oversight of all work undertaken by social workers within the Public Law Outline.

 

3. There has not been any internal audits, review, or reports carried out within the last five years regarding the mismanagement of family time. If any complaints had been made regarding Family Time. This would be explored on an individual basis by the service.

 

There has been one complaint made which encompasses criteria section b and c. The outcome of which was not upheld.
