Report a street or subway light problem

We provide street lights mainly to light the highway. There is no statutory duty for us to do so.

Part-night lights have sensors that monitor the number of daylight hours. When the clocks change, they can take several days to adjust. This is not a fault.

Our streetlights all have a yellow sticker with black writing on. If there is not a sticker then we are not the responsible owner. It may be your District Council.

If the fault presents an immediate danger outside of our normal hours, call the police on 101.

What will happen next

  • Reports are assessed and action taken in accordance with our Highways Infrastructure and Asset Management Plan.
  • We aim to fix emergency faults within two hours and non-emergency faults within 10 days
  • Sometimes the fault requires the electricity provider to make a repair. This will then be repaired to the providers' timescales.
