How to apply
You must have a licence to place a skip within the highway. It must not present a danger, cause unnecessary obstruction, or conflict with planned works or events.
The skip provider must apply for the licence, not the customer. The licence will be issued to the provider, subject to approval.
To apply for a scaffolding or hoarding licence, you must:

You must apply and pay for all licences at least five working days in advance:

Apply for a skip, scaffold or cherry picker licence
Approval process
- We will take your payment then assess your request. We will contact you to discuss your works further, if required.
- If approved, we will email your licence to you, along with any conditions of work.
- You can only place your skip or begin work when you have received your licence.
Refused applications
If we cannot resolve any issues, we will refuse your application and refund your payment.
