Works to build the new Spalding Road roundabout will start on Monday 30 May.

Below is a list of upcoming traffic management relating to the ongoing Spalding Western Relief Road construction works:

  • Monday 30 to Tuesday 31 May – Stop/Go boards on Spalding Road near its junction with Enterprise Way
  • Wednesday 1 June for up to four months – narrowed lanes on Spalding Road near its junction with Enterprise Way
  • From mid-summer 2022 for up to three months – a combination of road closures and temporary traffic signals to be used as needed, including on Enterprise Way and Spalding Road (specific dates will be shared once details are finalised and confirmed)

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “We’re now at the stage where the team will be focusing on getting the new Spalding Road roundabout built.

“This will involve some traffic management until the autumn, including narrowed lanes on Spalding Road for up to four months, along with temporary traffic signals and road closures as needed at Enterprise Way and on Spalding Road starting this summer – most likely in July.

“Once dates for the road closures and other essential traffic management are confirmed, we’ll share the details with residents and businesses so they can make preparations.

“There will inevitably be some disruption during this phase of the project, but we’ll be doing everything we can to keep this to a minimum including giving people as much notice as possible and ensuring there is clear diversion route signage out for drivers to follow when closures are in place.”
