Dates for Spalding Road night-time closures announced

Diversion route Spalding Road

Works on Spalding Road scheduled to start from mid-October.

Night-time closures will be in place from 7pm to 6am, weekday evenings only, starting on Monday 17 October for four weeks.

Outside of the evening closures, two-way traffic management will be in place to allow Spalding Road to remain open, minimising disruption for residents.

Enterprise Way will remain closed throughout the works, with both Spalding Road and Enterprise Way reopening on the planned completion date of Saturday 12 November (subject to weather and ground conditions).

The diversion route for the night-time closures will be via Spalding Road / B1180 / A16 / A151 / West Elloe Avenue / B1356, and vice versa.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “Works at the Enterprise Way junction with Spalding Road are progressing well and we now have dates for when we’ll be laying the final layer of road surfacing for the new roundabout.

“These evenings of night-time closures will no doubt cause some disruption, but we’ll be carrying the works out as efficiently as possible to keep disruption to a minimum.

“Following these works, the focus will be on pressing forward with the new bridge over the rail line.

“I want to thank everyone for continuing to bear with us throughout the project.”

The north section of the Spalding Western Relief Road is expected to be complete in Autumn 2023.
