New Spalding Road roundabout complete
What we achieved in September/October/November/December
- New roundabout completed and opened
- All temporary traffic management removed from Spalding Road and Enterprise Way
- Completed footway and kerbing works; road surfacing; drainage; street light and signage installation; and completed laying new road markings at roundabout
- Completed piling works for the eastern structural embankments up to the bridge; piling for permanent high pressure gas slab foundation; and eastern low height embankment surcharge
- Completed diversionary works for Openreach, WPD and Anglian Water
- Continued pile cap works; putting protective coating on concrete pile caps; and works on western low height embankment surcharge
- Commenced laying material in between pile caps; pouring of gas main protection slab beams; and piling works for railway bridge piers and abutments
What's happening in January/February/March
- Complete piling works, as well as cofferdams for the east/west piers and abutments
- Construct piers and abutments east and west of railway
- Complete gas slab works
- Continue laying material in between pile caps and surcharging west low height embankment
- Pouring concrete and hold it in place for the new bridge’s west and east abutment bases
- Begin construction of east and west load transfer platform
- Begin accepting delivery and storing large volumes of light-weight fill material
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Closure of Two Plank Bridge, its connecting footpath and the footpath on the Wygate estate across the rail line
