What we achieved in June
- Continued site-wide vegetation clearance, fence installation and access construction
- Continued construction of haul road
- Demolished properties on Station Road
- Started construction of main site compound near the A46
- Completed topsoil strip and preparation works for the materials processing area at Grantham Road / Lincoln Cliff
- Commenced earthworks operation at Lincoln Cliff
- Completed topsoil strip between Grantham Road and A15
- Completed three National Grid electricity diversions along the route
- National Grid commenced diversion of overhead lines at South Hykeham Road
- Anglian Water continuing works to divert four assets across the scheme
- Constructed temporary bridge embankments, installed sheet piles for abutments and commenced construction of bank seats
- Commenced piling platform at Station Road
What’s happening in July
- Continue main construction works and site clearance across the scheme
- Continue temporary bridge construction
- Carry out installation of piling platforms for all bridges
- Commence bulk earthworks, including pond construction and drainage ditches
- Continue construction of haul roads and site accesses
- Continue main construction of A46 site compound and processing area at Grantham Road
- Continue demolition of Station Road properties
- National Grid and Anglian Water to continue utility diversions across the project
- Continue boundary fencing installation and preparation of work areas for future construction phases
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Various alterations to Public Rights of Way near to where the relief road is being built
- Temporary traffic signals and reduced speed limits at South Hykeham Road, Brant Road, Grantham Road, and Station Road to facilitate construction of accesses and haul road crossings
- Closure of Somerton Gate Lane
- Diversion route via Hill Top / Station Road / Brant Road.
- Access will be maintained for residents, the allotments, and local businesses from the Station Road / Hill Top end.
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Friday 3 July for three evenings - full road closure in place from 8pm Friday evening until 6am Monday morning
- Diversion route: via A607 / B1178 / A15, and vice versa
- Monday 20 July for five days - 24/7 temporary traffic lights in place from 7am Monday until 8pm Friday
- Friday 24 July for three evenings - full road closure in place from 8pm Friday evening until 6am Monday morning
