Lincolnshire County Council has released new, clear guidance on how to install a dropped kerb outside your property.
If you are looking to install a dropped kerb outside your property, you should think ABCD and:
- Apply online through the council's website
- Book your contractor, choosing from the council's contractor list
- Crack on with constructing the dropped kerb to the council's specification
- Don't pay twice; you are liable if your contractor fails to install the dropped kerb correctly
The advice has been published after an incident where a contractor – not on the council's list – failed to construct the new kerb to the right standards, and the homeowner had to pay again to have it fixed.
If you'd like further advice before submitting your application for a dropped kerb, please email vehiclecrossings@lincolnshire.gov.uk, or visit the dropped kerb page of our website.
