How to apply
Once you have been offered a sixth form or college place, you may apply for post 16 transport.
The deadline for post 16 transport payments for the 2026 to 2027 academic year is 31 July 2026. Transport may not be in place for the start of the new academic year for payments made after this date.
If you miss this deadline, you may still apply, but it may not be processed for the start of the new academic year, and you should make other arrangements.
If you apply mid-year then it is your responsibility to make other arrangements until the application has been processed.
What happens next
Once you have applied online, you will get an email to confirm we have received your application.
We will then assess your eligibility and contact you as soon as possible with our decision.
If your application is approved, we will send you details and, where appropriate, a bus pass as soon as possible.
Your child will be allocated a Transport (TRA) number – please keep hold of this as you will need it if you wish to contact us about your transport provision in future.
Eligible students going from Year 11 into the first year of sixth form or college will be approved for transport for 2 years. If transport is required for a third year a new application must be submitted.
Students subject to an Education and Health Care Plan, who may be eligible for transport after the age of 19, will need to make a new application for transport every year.
