Road closures and parking restrictions

Stage 1

We are delighted to welcome the Lloyds Tour of Britain to Lincolnshire in September 2026. The event will showcase our county to audiences across the UK and around the world.

To help Stages 1 and 2 of the race run safely on 2 September 2026 and 3 September 2026, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place.

Information about affected roads, closure times and travel advice for Stage 1 is available below.

From 8pm on Tuesday 1 September until 6.30pm on Wednesday 2 September

Local diversion routes will help residents, businesses and visitors travel around the city during this period.

A57 and A1500 diversion routes

  • A57 (eastbound from Dunham bridge) - take A1133 south towards Newark and join A46 back towards Lincoln, and vice versa
    • Please note that A57 eastbound access is allowed up to Saxilby. A hard closure will be in place here for all traffic, apart from those accessing Burton Waters. 
  • A57 eastbound - a secondary diversion is available at Drinsey Nook by taking the B1190 southbound through Doddington and joining the A46 Lincoln Bypass north-bound before re-joining the A57 at Carholme Rd roundabout
    • Please note that this diversion is not suitable for HGVs.
  • A57 (westbound wanting to access Saxilby) - follow the diversion route southbound along the A46 and A1133, and re-join the A57 at Newton on Trent
  • A1500 westbound - continue on A15 north to Caenby Corner, head west on A631 to Gainsborough, and then south on A156 to re-join A1500 at Marton

Parking restrictions and clearways during Stage 1

Temporary parking suspensions will also be in place at locations along the race route on Wednesday 2 September (both within and outside of Lincoln). 

Please check the signs and move your vehicle before the suspension comes into effect to help keep the route clear and the race running safely.
