Apply for or renew a Blue Badge
You must check if you are eligible to apply for a Blue Badge on GOV.uk You can also use the service to reapply for a Blue Badge.
Do not pay anyone offering to help you complete the Blue Badge application form. They are not affiliated with the scheme and it could be a scam.
What happens next?
If you are eligible, your application or renewal is sent to us. We will review it within eight weeks.
To complete your application, we will ask you some further questions about how you meet the criteria. You must provide us with satisfactory evidence for your application to be successful.

If we approve your application, we will tell you how you can pay the £10 fee.
Once we receive your payment, we will process your Blue Badge within one week. You will receive it within 7 to 10 working days.
If we refuse your application, we will:
- tell you why and we will not charge you
- explain the appeals procedure, if needed
You can ask us to reconsider your case if you do not think all the important information you provided was taken into account.
You can also reapply if your mobility problems become more serious.
