Forum sees opportunities to end bottleneck on growth

Lincolnshire’s agri-food leaders met to discuss the government’s proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework at the latest meeting of the Greater Lincolnshire Forum for Agriculture and Horticulture (GLFFAH).

With farmers looking to diversify their businesses in bids to become profitable, more and more are coming unstuck when looking into development with national planning policies that require external consultants, reports, surveys and licenses.

The proposed revisions to the National Planning Policy Framework were cautiously welcomed by forum members as going some way to addressing some issues. However, finer details were needed and some concerns were still raised.

Following the meeting, the GLFFAH is working to finalise a formal response to the government’s consultation on the National Planning Policy Framework, representing the overall views from forum members.
