Lines will be closed on weekends, and on the bank holidays on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December, and Monday 1 January 2024.

Reception at our County Office building on Newland in Lincoln is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm, and closed on weekends and bank holidays.

Out of hours emergencies

If you believe that a child or adult may be a victim of neglect, abuse or cruelty, you can report your concerns to us. If you need to report an emergency safety concern for an adult or child out of hours, please call 01522 782333.

For immediate dangers on the road outside of normal office hours, such as fallen trees, call the police on 101. For other issues on the roads, report these to us through FixMyStreet.

Waste and recycling

All our Household Waste Recycling Centres (tips) will be open as follows over the Christmas period:

Our recycling centres at Boston, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Market Rasen and Spalding are open from 8am to 4pm.

The recycling centres at Bourne, Grantham, Louth, Skegness, Sleaford and Tattershall are open from 9am to 4pm.

For your bin days over Christmas, check your collection dates with your district council.

Heritage sites

Lincoln Castle

The castle will be open every day, except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Until Saturday 23 December, the grounds of the castle will be open for Lincoln Castle Illuminated.

Lincoln Museum and Usher Gallery

Over the Christmas period, Lincoln Museum and the Usher Gallery will be open from 10am to 4pm on:

• Thursday 21 December (Winter Solstice evening event)
• Friday 22 December
• Saturday 23 December
• Thursday 28 December
• Friday 29 December
• Saturday 30 December
• Open as normal from Thursday 4 January

Museum of Lincolnshire Life

Over the festive period the museum will be open from 10am to 4pm on:

• Tuesday 2 January
• Normal opening days resume from Friday 5 January

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight visitor centre

The centre will be closed over the Christmas period and will not be offering tours of the BBMF hangar.  It will close on Wednesday 20 December at 5pm (last tour at 3pm), and re-open on Monday 8 January at 10am (first tour at 10.30am).

Libraries

Our core libraries at Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Horncastle, Lincoln Central, Long Sutton, Louth, Mablethorpe, Market Rasen, Sleaford, Spalding, Skegness and Woodhall Spa will be open as follows over the Christmas period:

Bus services and Call Connect

Many bus services across Lincolnshire – including the Callconnect on-demand and timetabled services – will run amended timetables over Christmas and New Year. You can find the latest timetables and plan your journey now on the LincsBus website.

Our Transport Helpline will be open as follows, just call 0345 456 4474 for friendly advice:

The £2 bus fare cap has been extended until 31 December 2024, so single journeys with selected operators will continue at just £2.
