Lincoln Yarborough Hill embankment repairs

The Yarborough Hill embankment repair project would involve stabilising the existing slope at the section of Yarborough Road overlooking Whitton’s Park.

The scheme would also include:

  • installation of new drainage to manage the water in the ground
  • removal of the existing concrete layby
  • rebuilding the footway near the current layby so it’s adjacent to the carriageway

Cost and funding

The estimated total cost for the project would be between £1.2 million and £2.3 million.

Timeline

  • November 2024: Preliminary surveys carried out
  • December 2025*: Project discussed at Highways and Transport Scrutiny Committee
  • May 2026*: Works begin
  • September 2026*: Project complete
