Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse includes a range of abusive behaviours which are used by an abusive partner, or ex-partner or family member to maintain power and control over you.

Domestic abuse is not a one off incident but is an on-going pattern of behaviour. Once begun, the abuse and/or violence will repeat itself and will often get worse over a period of time. This abusive behaviour also includes Forced Marriage, so called Honour Based Violence and Female Genital Mutilation.
